This collection of short essays was initiated after a meeting between scholars from the Center for Study of Apparent Selves and Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche in Nepal in 2022 and at Tufts University in Boston in 2023. These meetings were aimed at exploring the potential for thinking together with Tibetan religious leaders and for integrating Buddhist insights about the nature of the mind, agency, selfhood, and collective well-being into the rapidly developing field of Artificial Intelligence. During the meeting, Rinpoche graciously offered traditional teachings to the scientists, who decided to reciprocate and share what they each considered the most important insights from their respective domains.
